Francis is passionate about empowering restaurant owners to access world-best-practice energy management solutions that deliver a high ROI. In 2012, he developed and implemented an energy-efficient kitchen design for the Chevron 1,500-plate kitchen in the Wheatstone LNG Workcamp in Onslow, Australia. In 2018, his focus shifted to smaller restaurants, starting at the Springfield KFC in Durban, South Africa, where over the next 18 months he and his team tested and developed a number of standardised energy-saving initiatives, achieving 28% energy savings.
Francis is a qualified Electrical Contractor who holds a Master's in Energy Management, a Bachelor of Economics, a Diploma of Electrical Engineering, and a Certificate in Sustainable Business. He is a Certified Professional in Measurement & Verification and a Certified Energy Manager with the Association of Energy Engineers.
An accomplished global energy management expert, Francis specialises in the development of techno-economic-driven business cases to support energy efficiency, energy management, and renewable energy design. He is also a published author of "How to Profit from Climate Change" and "Sustainable Retrofitting of Commercial Buildings in Warm Climates."

Business Case Driven Solutions
Enspara was started to deliver on our world leading energy and carbon saving solutions. It goes back to 2010 when we developed a 60% energy saving solution for the 22MW Chevron Wheatstone LNG Construction Workcamp in Onslow, Australia. We invented an innovative product, The Climate Controller, a product that delivered 60% of the site's air conditioning energy cost savings with a 36% ROI. Then in 2018 we spent 18 months working on achieving a 28% energy savings at a Springfield KFC, and in 2021 we achieved a 50% saving at a Sherwood KFC. In 2023 we established a 40% electricity cost saving at a casual restaurant in South Africa.
With roll outs now in over 60 kitchens we have now over 30 proven energy saving products. Our products maintain and often improve food quality. Our products support staff by automating previously manually controlled equipment. Our products improve the guest restaurant experience.
